Guardant Health Expands Shield Blood Test Coverage Through Carelon

09:03 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Guardant Health's (GH) Shield blood test for colorectal cancer screening will be covered under Carelon Healthcare Services' clinical guidelines effective Nov. 15, the company said Tuesday. The coverage expansion will increase the number of people with commercial coverage for Shield to about 90 million, or 75% of eligible US patients, the company said. Shield is a blood test approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for primary colorectal cancer screening in average-risk adults aged 45 years and older, offering a more accessible screening option through a routine blood draw, it added.
