Butterfly Network Collaborates With Merge Labs on Ultrasound Brain-Computer Interfaces

09:06 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Butterfly Network (BFLY) and Merge Labs said Tuesday they have entered into a multiyear licensing agreement for the development of ultrasound-based brain-computer interfaces. Under the agreement, Merge will gain access to Butterfly's Poseidon Family of Ultrasound-on-Chip technology, while Butterfly will serve as Merge's exclusive CMOS-MEMS chip-based ultrasound partner, the companies said. The deal includes upfront and milestone-based license payments, hardware purchase commitments and technology access fees to Butterfly, with royalties expected on future commercial sales, the companies said.
