United Community Banks Completes Sale of Equipment Finance Business

05:16 PM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- United Community Banks (UCB) said late Tuesday it has completed the sale of its equipment finance business to funds managed by Wafra for about $2 billion in cash. The monetization of the business, consisting of Navitas Credit Corp. and NLFC Reinsurance Corp., reflected a 7% premium to the par value of Navitas' loan portfolio, the company said. The sale allows it to focus on core Southeastern markets while enhancing its liquidity and capital strength, it added.
