Medtronic Gets US FDA Clearance for LigaSure RAS Maryland Device on Hugo System

07:05 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Medtronic (MDT) has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for the use of the LigaSure robotic-assisted surgery Maryland jaw device with the Hugo robotic-assisted surgery system in the US, the medical device maker said Wednesday. The clearance expands the instruments available for Hugo and brings Medtronic's vessel-sealing technology to robotic-assisted procedures, it said. The device can seal and cut vessels, thick tissue and lymphatics up to 7 mm in diameter, with vessels sealing in about two seconds, it added.
