MetaMUI moves users to post-quantum security without asset transfers
Seoul, South Korea, September 17, 2026 – MetaMUI has completed its post-quantum mainnet hard fork, giving existing users a path to upgraded cryptographic security without requiring them to manually transfer their balances to a new account.
The migration went live on September 13 at block 35,499,408.
What changes for existing users
Update the MetaMUI Wallet. Unlock it normally. Continue using the network.
Behind that simple experience is a different approach to blockchain accounts. Most blockchain accounts closely link the cryptographic key, address and control of the assets associated with it. Changing the underlying key system can therefore create a second problem: how to migrate the users and assets already secured by the old system.
MetaMUI separates those functions. Its accounts are decentralized identifiers, while cryptographic keys operate as credentials registered against those identities. Balances are associated with the identity rather than permanently locked to one cryptographic key.
When an existing wallet is updated and unlocked after the hard fork, that action authorizes registration of a new Falcon-512 post-quantum key against the migrated identity.
Users do not need to manually transfer their balance to another destination account, create a separate replacement account, or pay a migration fee. Exchange customers also do not need to carry out an individual migration where their custodian handles the key registration.
“The real challenge is not choosing a stronger algorithm. It is changing the cryptography of a live network without forcing users to move their assets,” said Seokgu “Phantom” Yun, Founder and Chief Architect of MetaMUI. “That is what this hard fork demonstrates on mainnet.”
A migration path, not a blanket conversion
The transition is not completely interaction-free. Accounts that are never reopened retain their classical key until the user activates them through the upgraded wallet. MetaMUI therefore describes the deployment as an in-place migration path rather than an automatic conversion of every dormant account.
The upgraded network now uses post-quantum signatures across transactions, identity and consensus.
About MetaMUI
MetaMUI is a decentralized-identity-native blockchain developed by SovereignWallet for regulated payments, stablecoin settlement and institutional digital assets. Its architecture separates identity from the cryptographic credentials used to authorize it, allowing the security layer to evolve without requiring users to move balances each time cryptography changes.
