01:09 PM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were lower Friday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) decreasing 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.3%. In corporate news, Netflix (NFLX) shares dropped 4.6% after Wells Fargo downgraded the stock to underweight from equalweight, citing concerning engagement trends.
