XRP has regained the $1.50 level following a sharp selloff that pushed its Relative Strength Index (RSI) to the lowest point in 13 years. This move places the cryptocurrency’s technical signals back into focus, as traders and analysts assess whether an important reversal may be underway.
XRP rebounds to $1.50 after 13-year RSI low, eyes key technical upgrades
Technical signals under scrutiny
In recent days, XRP’s two-week RSI dropped to a reading described by analyst Cryptollica as unprecedented since 2011. While XRP was trading around $1.30, this extremely low RSI reading signaled that selling pressure had intensified to rarely seen levels. Such RSI lows, however, do not guarantee a price bottom; assets can stay oversold or experience further declines.
XRP’s RSI reached its lowest point in 13 years at the same time the price managed to defend the $1.29–$1.30 support area, overlapping with longer-term technical levels watched by market participants.
The subsequent rebound to $1.50 represents a nearly 15% recovery from the recent low. This uptick suggests that buyers became active once XRP approached historically significant support, potentially signaling a shift in short-term sentiment.
Still, analysts remain cautious. A single rally off support does not confirm the start of a durable uptrend. If XRP can turn $1.50 from resistance into support, attention may focus on whether it can push toward the next area of interest, which lies in the $1.60–$1.65 range. A move back below $1.50, however, could suggest that the recovery was just a relief rally rather than the beginning of a new upward phase.
Upcoming XRPL network upgrade
Beyond price action, XRP traders are also monitoring developments within the XRP Ledger, the decentralized blockchain network powering the asset. The BatchV1_1 amendment is scheduled for possible activation on September 29, as long as validator support remains above the required threshold. The upgrade is designed to allow multiple transactions to be grouped together, supporting atomic batches. In atomic batches, every transaction must succeed for the batch to process; if any transaction fails, the entire group is rolled back.
Mini dictionary: Atomic batch, a group of transactions processed together so that if any transaction in the group fails, the entire batch is not executed. This increases reliability for complex operations on blockchain networks.
Industry observers suggest that this BatchV1_1 upgrade will enhance the XRP Ledger’s capabilities, potentially paving the way for more complex applications and services to be built on the network.
ETF demand and price disconnect
While technical and network developments capture the community’s attention, demand for XRP exchange-traded funds persists as another important factor. Despite substantial cumulative inflows into XRP-related ETFs, the asset’s price remains significantly below previous records.
The relationship between inflows to XRP ETFs and long-term price recovery continues to draw industry analysis, especially as price performance has not mirrored the rise in ETF investment.
This dynamic highlights the complex interplay between institutional demand, investor sentiment, and market fundamentals that currently shapes XRP’s prospects.
