Teradyne Introduces Optical Test Platform for MicroLEDs

05:53 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Teradyne (TER) said Monday it introduced Iris 100, an optical test platform designed for high-volume microLED manufacturing. The company said the platform measures individual emitters across microLED arrays, including spectral response, brightness and uniformity. The test and image-processing technology can characterize arrays containing millions of microLEDs and identify defects such as dead or stuck pixels and cluster defects, the company said. It also integrates with its UltraFLEXplus system for combined optical and electrical testing, the company added. The system supports both wafer and final testing, with a roadmap to add photodetector testing capabilities, according to the company. Shares of the company were up more than 2.4% in Monday's premarket activity.
