03:44 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Accenture (ACN) and Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google Cloud said Tuesday that Volvo Cars has become the lead automotive partner for Horizon, an open-source platform for automakers. The companies said Volvo Cars is moving its global Android Automotive software development environment to Horizon, giving engineers access to virtual testing and AI-assisted development tools. Horizon can speed up software testing by up to nine times, reduce infotainment development costs by up to 40% and cut software build times from as much as two hours to minutes. The platform also allows engineers to remotely access virtual and physical testing systems, reducing the need for specialized hardware, the companies added.
