AbbVie Gets European Commission Approval for Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Treatment

04:13 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AbbVie (ABBV) has received European Commission approval for Rinvoq, or upadacitinib, to treat active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis in certain patients aged at least two years, the company said Tuesday. The approval covers patients who have responded inadequately to, or who are intolerant to, one or more disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs. The disease is characterized by inflammation in five or more joints and can result in joint damage, if left untreated, according to the company.
