Valens Semiconductor, Onsemi Collaborate on 3MP Automotive Camera Sensor

07:05 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Valens Semiconductor (VLN) said Tuesday it is collaborating with Onsemi (ON) on a cost-optimized integrated sensor for high-volume 3-megapixel automotive camera applications. Under the agreement, Valens said it will work with Onsemi on a connectivity solution based on the MIPI A-PHY standard that can be integrated into Onsemi's image sensors, giving automakers and Tier 1 suppliers a faster way to adopt the technology. The company said most automotive image sensors have resolutions of 1 to 3 megapixels, while demand for higher-resolution cameras is growing. The 3-megapixel offering is designed to bring the technology to more high-volume vehicle models, it added.
