Canada Commodities: Oil Prices Down as Saudi Arabia Indicates East-West Pipeline May Restart This Week

10:00 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Oil prices extended their losses Tuesday morning, falling for a fifth-straight session after Saudi Arabia said it may restart its East-West pipeline this week, several media outlets reported. The pipeline had been damaged by a drone attack. West Texas Intermediate October crude oil futures, the US benchmark, fell 1.9% to $94.03 per barrel. November Brent oil futures, the international benchmark, slipped 1.7% to $98.67 a barrel. Comex gold December futures edged down 0.3% to $4,369.60 per ounces. In agricultural commodities, December wheat futures slipped 0.5% to $7.23 per bushel, while canola futures for November edged 0.6% lower to CA$830 per tonne.
