Qualcomm to Acquire PickNik to Expand Robotics Software Ecosystem

08:10 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm (QCOM) has agreed to acquire robotics software company PickNik to expand its open robotics ecosystem and support the development of physical artificial intelligence applications, the company said Wednesday. PickNik develops MoveIt, an open-source robotics manipulation framework used by developers, researchers and commercial robotics companies globally, Qualcomm said. The company said MoveIt is expected to integrate more closely with its Dragonwing robotics platforms. The company also plans to support MoveIt integration with Arduino VENTUNO Q boards, it said. Qualcomm said MoveIt will remain open-source and supported across third-party hardware platforms. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Qualcomm shares were 1% lower in Wednesday premarket activity.
