IonQ to Install Quantum Computer at Nvidia Research Center

08:44 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- IonQ (IONQ) said Wednesday it will install its Superion 256 quantum computer at Nvidia's (NVDA) Accelerated Quantum Research Center in 2027. The company said the system will connect to Nvidia's GB200 NVL72 system through NVQLink technology, with workloads managed through the CUDA-Q platform. The companies will work on combining quantum computing with AI systems and developing technology for large-scale quantum computers, with research focusing on financial modeling, materials science and drug discovery, IonQ said. The company said it introduced the Superion 256 on Sept. 8 and expects initial customer deliveries to begin in 2027. Separately, IonQ said Tuesday its researchers demonstrated an end-to-end quantum error correction system that runs in real time on a single standard CPU. IonQ said the system can detect and correct errors continuously without requiring the quantum computer to pause for processing. IonQ shares were up more than 11% in premarket activity Wednesday.
