Tesla Reportedly Opens Semi Electric Truck Plant in Nevada

04:15 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) opened a factory in Nevada for high-volume production of its Semi heavy-duty electric truck, news outlets reported Thursday. The electric vehicle maker intends to produce 50,000 Semi trucks a year, CNBC reported, citing a company official. Industry coalition ZET Scale selected Tesla as its main original equipment manufacturer for an initial order of 2,500 Semi trucks, with a goal of ordering more than 10,000 electric trucks from various providers, according to news reports. Einride (ENRD) reportedly agreed to order 500 trucks. Tesla didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
