Exchange-Traded Funds Rise US Equities Advance After Midday

01:20 PM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Broad Market Indicators Broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV edged higher. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) added 0.5% after midday Friday. US equity indexes rose as crude oil prices fell after Iran floated a conditional proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days and resume talks over its nuclear program. Energy IShares US Energy ETF (IYE) fell 1.4% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) lost 1.3%. Technology The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) gained 1%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) was up 0.8%, and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) added 0.7%. The State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) climbed 3.3%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was 1.5% higher. Financial The State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) added 0.5%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) advanced 1.4%, and its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), declined 1.3%. Commodities Crude oil lost 2.6%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 3.1%. Natural gas dropped 3.9%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) moved 4.7% lower. Gold on Comex added 0.5%, and the State Street SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) was up 0.3%. Silver gained 1.2%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) rose 0.8%. Consumer The State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) added 0.2% and the Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) gained 0.3%.
