Reuters, September 28 - Database software company MongoDB's MDB.O Chirantan "CJ" Desai has resigned as president and chief executive officer to join Meta Platforms META.O as chief enterprise platform officer, the two companies said on Monday.

MongoDB shares fell 14% in premarket trading.

Desai served as MongoDB CEO for less than a year, having taken over the role from Dev Ittycheria last November (link).

The MongoDB board has appointed Ittycheria as interim president and CEO. The company is looking for a permanent CEO and has hired an executive search firm to assist with the process.
