Treasury Yields Climb to Fresh Heights; Oil Rises on Rejected Iran Truce -- WSJ
Dow Jones2026/09/28 16:24By Joe Wallace
New week, new heights for Treasury yields.
Yields on benchmark 10-year notes just hit a fresh intraday high for this roller-coaster month, while those on 30-year bonds are now at their highest level since 2004.
Oil prices are also on the rise after President Trump rejected an Iranian truce proposal, keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed and further squeezing global energy supplies.
The most actively traded Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil, are up more than 2% at around $99.50 a barrel. One sign supplies are running low: The front-month contract, which expires this week, trades substantially higher.
U.S. stocks are off to a negative start to the week. A record $150 billion boost to Nvidia's buyback program is boosting shares in the chip maker, but has failed to lift investors' spirits generally.
