Cloudflare, Deutsche Telekom Collaborating on Enterprise Security in Europe

10:30 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cloudflare (NET) and Deutsche Telekom said Tuesday they are collaborating to strengthen digital infrastructure security for European companies. Under the agreement, the two companies will integrate their networks and Deutsche Telekom will expand its enterprise portfolio with Cloudflare's security and connectivity services. Financial terms were not disclosed. Separately, Cloudflare said it intends to become a public Certificate Authority, an open service that issues the digital certificates to websites to encrypt traffic and prove their identity to visitors. Cloudflare said the authority will support both traditional encryption and post-quantum Merkle Tree Certificates and that it will acquire root certificate key material from GlobalSign to support the initiative. Cloudflare said it has applied for inclusion in root systems operated by Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Chrome, Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT) and Mozilla and that it plans to begin issuing traditional certificates following completion of the application and acceptance process.
