07:55 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ford CEO Jim Farley said the US should take a cautious approach to Chinese automakers, arguing that Europe waited too long to respond to their growing presence, CNBC reported Tuesday. Farley said Ford plans to compete with Chinese automakers while partnering with them in areas where the company does not have intellectual property, including manufacturing and battery technology in some markets, the report said. His comments come as the Trump administration considers whether Chinese automakers should be allowed to enter the US market and as Congress considers measures that could restrict or ban Chinese auto brands, CNBC reported.
