Ethiopian Airlines Orders 10 Boeing Freighters to Expand Cargo Fleet

05:29 PM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing (BA) said Wednesday that Ethiopian Airlines ordered eight 777-8 Freighters and two 777 Freighters as the airline expands its cargo fleet and global freight network. The order makes Ethiopian Airlines the first African carrier to purchase the 777-8 Freighter and doubles its 777X family order book, Boeing said. The airline currently operates 12 777 Freighters, two 767 Freighters and four 737-800SF aircraft, serving more than 70 cargo markets across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
