Broadcom (AVGO.US) syndicate begins raising 60 billions USD to supply chip "ammunition" for companies like Anthropic
According to informed sources, Broadcom's Wall Street syndicate is initiating the raising of $60 billion in new financing to purchase artificial intelligence (AI) chips, with beneficiaries including Anthropic PBC and other companies.
According to Golden Ten Data APP, sources reveal that Broadcom (AVGO.US)'s Wall Street banking syndicate is working to raise $60 billion in new financing for artificial intelligence (AI) chip procurement, with beneficiaries including Anthropic PBC and other companies.
Sources state that the banks involved in this massive debt plan are preparing to issue a syndication letter for a $42 billion Class A senior secured loan. As the transaction has not yet been announced, these individuals requested anonymity.
Sources also indicate that Blackstone Group (BX.US) is leading an $18 billion Class B subordinated debt, committing $9 billion through several of its own funds, and plans to syndicate the remaining portion.
A representative from Broadcom declined to comment.
Reportedly, this financing has been in preparation for several weeks and is under close watch by professionals in Wall Street and Silicon Valley. They aim to assess whether investors remain enthusiastic about supporting AI infrastructure while there is public opposition to data center construction. Broadcom aims to sell more chips and other data center equipment to challenge NVIDIA (NVDA.US), while AI companies like Anthropic need ongoing capacity expansion.
Back in August, sources stated that this potential deal would help companies such as Anthropic obtain chips and other critical AI infrastructure.
This funding represents an additional portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars in AI infrastructure debt financing that has already been implemented globally. Although most of these funds have gone toward data centers, deals to finance chips and servers are also multiplying rapidly.
Also in August, NVIDIA announced partnerships with six financial giants including Blackstone, planning to leverage over $500 billion for the AI sector, including initiatives to help customers finance purchases of NVIDIA chips.
Meanwhile, Blackstone’s investment in Anthropic has also boosted the performance of its private equity funds targeting high-net-worth clients.
