⑴ Industry sources said on Friday that due to maintenance at the large Karachaganak oil and gas field, Kazakhstan's oil and natural gas condensate production in September fell by 7% compared to August. ⑵ Last month, the country’s crude oil and natural gas condensate output dropped to 7.65 million tons, equivalent to about 1.92 million barrels per day. ⑶ Output at the Karachaganak field plummeted from 241,000 barrels per day in August to just 42,000 barrels per day, which was the main drag on overall production. ⑷ Part of the impact was offset by increased production at the country's largest oil field, Tengiz, which rose from 882,000 barrels per day in August to 951,000 barrels per day in September. ⑸ Going forward, attention will focus on whether Karachaganak can restore capacity once maintenance is complete and whether Tengiz can sustain its increased output, both of which may affect the country's overall supply pace.
