CME Group Sets September, Q3 Average Daily Volume Records; ADV Rises 22%, 16%

08:32 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- CME Group (CME) Friday reported a record average daily volume, or ADV, of 31.8 million contracts in September, up 22% year over year. Q3 ADV also reached a record 29.4 million contracts, up 16% from a year earlier. Both September and Q3 volumes surpassed prior records set in 2024, the derivatives marketplace operator said. September interest rate ADV rose 22% to 16.2 million contracts, while equity index ADV increased 16% to 8.1 million, the derivatives marketplace operator said. Energy ADV climbed 37% to 3.1 million contracts, and agricultural ADV gained 29% to 1.9 million, it said.
