Vitalik: AI will become the new user interface, and directly executing complex on-chain operations may become the norm
According to Odaily, Vitalik Buterin stated that AI is now demonstrating the ability to break out of sandboxes, attack websites, discover software vulnerabilities, and assist the Ethereum protocol in uncovering bugs, implementing complex cryptography, and conducting formal verification. About a month ago, he updated ENS information for the first time without using a user interface, only asking a local AI agent to write a script. The operation was completed in about five minutes. He expects that AI directly executing complex on-chain operations will gradually become the norm and serve as a new user interface in more scenarios. Vitalik Buterin also mentioned that Safe-related hacking incidents have resulted in losses of about 1.4 billion USD, with attacks targeting the interaction layer between users and on-chain systems rather than on-chain contracts. While direct transaction handling by AI could reduce risks posed by web interfaces, it will also introduce new challenges such as AI security, prompt injection, and the accuracy of operational understanding.
