Google, Unity Collaborate to Build, Launch New AI Gaming Platform
MT newswire2026/10/07 12:3008:30 AM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google and Unity (U) have agreed to a partnership to create a new artificial intelligence gaming platform that is slated to launch later this year, the companies said on Wednesday. The collaboration is centered around Google's experimental Playground, a platform that allows users age 18 and older to generate and customize playable games using natural language, according to a statement. The companies will build on Playground to introduce a new expanded creation experience called Unity Spark later in the year, they said. Unity Spark will have an accessible interface, along with robust, professional-level mechanics, high-fidelity 3D capabilities and Unity's runtime, the companies said. Google and Unity said the platform will also include publishing tools and community features such as leaderboards, multiplayer matchmaking and Google Play Games profiles.
