Zcash’s strong rally in September has reversed into a sharp correction, with ZEC trading at $1,319 on October 7. Technical analysis now points toward additional downside risks as sellers regain control of the market.
Zcash falls 22% from September high as analysts see risk of further decline to $1,000
Momentum weakens as key supports eyed
After reaching a late-September peak near $1,700, Zcash began to lose momentum. The price has since declined to approach the $1,220–$1,300 range, an area previously marked as a potential support zone by market analysts.
Last month, technical observers noted a bearish divergence in Zcash’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) as the token neared resistance levels between $1,700 and $1,750. This signal suggested that upward momentum was cooling, despite higher prices, raising the likelihood of a pullback into lower support zones.
Following the brief effort to extend gains, ZEC reversed and now sits slightly above the upper edge of the earlier projected correction zone. The loss of momentum indicates that buyers struggled to maintain the strong pace set in September.
On the weekly timeframe, Zcash has dipped below the 2.618 Fibonacci extension at $1,722 after failing to sustain its move above previous highs. The next notable level on the chart is the 1.618 Fibonacci extension, which sits around $1,136.
| 1.618 Fibonacci | $1,136 | 14% |
| 20-week EMA | $900 | 32% |
The area between the 1.618 Fibonacci level and the rising 20-week exponential moving average, which is close to $900, forms a broad potential support region. A fall to $900 would mark a decline of about 32% from current prices, although the moving average itself shifts over time.
Meanwhile, Zcash’s weekly RSI has retreated from overbought territory and remains near the mid-60s. While this reading reflects continued relative strength, it also signals that the momentum has cooled from its peak. Further declines could bring more normalization in technical indicators.
Market analysts describe these support and resistance levels as reference points for a possible deeper retracement in case of renewed selling pressure.

Bear pennant formation signals extended decline
On the daily chart, ZEC is forming a potential bear pennant pattern after an initial sharp drop from approximately $1,650. The price has since consolidated between $1,300 and $1,400, awaiting a decisive move.
A clear break below the lower boundary of this short-term consolidation pattern would reinforce the bearish outlook. The size of the drop preceding the pennant suggests a possible technical target close to $986–$1,000 for the next major move. This would represent an additional decline of roughly 24% to 25% from the October 7 price level.
This projected target area aligns closely with the rising 100-day exponential moving average, which is currently near $953. The region between $950 and $1,000 is now seen as a potential support zone if price action weakens further.
Analysts caution that until Zcash breaks out of this consolidation, both buyers and sellers are likely to remain cautious. The next move will be determined by whether support holds or downside pressure intensifies.
Zcash has slipped from its September highs and now trades near key technical support zones, with analysts highlighting $1,136 and $1,000 as potential next targets if the current trend continues.

100 Million Barrels Shrinkage? Reports Say EU Believes Oil Reserve Release Plan Mainly Fulfills Previous Commitments, Not New Quotas
Last Friday, G7 member countries agreed to release up to 100 million barrels of crude oil and diesel reserves. The IEA had announced a plan to release 400 million barrels in March, and as of last Friday, about 75 million barrels had yet to be released. Most EU member states believe that this action is simply fulfilling previous commitments rather than adding new releases. Regarding the earlier-than-scheduled release of diesel stocks emphasized in last week's G7 agreement, EU member states consider it feasible, but on a limited scale.
