Market Chatter: Oracle Exploring Trucking Natural Gas to Project Jupiter in New Mexico
MT newswire2026/10/08 18:2702:27 PM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Oracle (ORCL) is considering trucking compressed natural gas to its Project Jupiter data center in New Mexico, where a delayed pipeline is threatening the project's timeline, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter. In September, Oracle sent the project's developer a notice citing force majeure that may protect the company from making some payments in case of further delays, according to the report. Gas deliveries from Superior Plus' Certarus unit kept a data center near Salt Lake City moving for more than a year, and VoltaGrid is supplying an Oracle campus being built for OpenAI in Texas, the report added. Oracle shares were down about 5% in Thursday trading. Oracle, OpenAI, Superior Plus and VoltaGrid did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
