NurExone Biologic Reports Preclinical Results for Optic Nerve Injury Treatment
MT newswire2026/10/09 20:3804:38 PM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- NurExone Biologic (NRX.V) after trade Friday reported preclinical results for its naive exosomes and lead drug candidate, ExoPTEN, in optic nerve injury models. The studies were carried out in collaboration with researchers at the Goldschleger Eye Institute at Sheba Medical Center, the company said, adding that the results support the advancement of its optic nerve injury program into larger-animal studies. NurExone's naive exosomes and ExoPTEN showed signs of preserving or restoring retinal activity in rats following optic nerve injury. "Treated eyes showed measurable electrical responses to light, while injured eyes in a control group showed much weaker responses," the company said. ExoPTEN also showed a "statistically significant" improvement in retinal response versus the control group, the company added. Shares of the company last traded Thursday, closing at CA$0.60 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
