⑴ Data released by the European Central Bank on Tuesday shows that financial institutions borrowed approximately 7 million euros through the overnight lending facility, a decrease from about 24 million euros the previous day. ⑵ The scale of usage for the overnight deposit facility was about 1.95 trillion euros, a slight decline compared to 1.95 trillion euros the previous day. ⑶ The current account holdings totaled around 335.7 billion euros, up from approximately 331.6 billion euros the previous day. ⑷ Overall, overnight borrowing demand remains at an extremely low level, while usage of the deposit facility stays high, indicating liquidity in the banking system remains ample. ⑸ Going forward, attention should be paid to changes in the European Central Bank's balance sheet and the impact of monetary policy expectations on money market interest rates.
