Sector Update: Consumer

08:54 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing premarket Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.3% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.8%. Yum! Brands' (YUM) KFC US said it will serve Coca-Cola (KO) products at its US locations starting January 2027, under a new partnership with the beverage company. Coca-Cola stock was 1% higher pre-bell.
