XRP global search interest falls 90% from peak, price holds above $1.25

XRP has entered a period of subdued retail interest, with global search activity for the cryptocurrency dropping significantly from its previous highs. Data from Google Trends shows that, by mid-October 2026, interest in XRP measured by global search volume had declined by more than 90% compared to July 2025, when the token surged toward the $3.65 level.

The search popularity index for “XRP” slipped to 13 points out of 100, reflecting the sharpest decline in sentiment among retail traders within the past year.

Sharp fall in search volume, but price remains resilient

A review of search data since 2012 highlights the scale of last year’s surge. The spike in July 2025 appears as an isolated peak in long-term charts, with search interest returning to minimal levels before and after that event.

The trend has persisted over the past 12 months. On an annual time frame, search queries have fallen by half, and even the local uptick seen between August and September had disappeared by mid-October.

While general activity around XRP has dropped to multi-year lows, the price of the coin has demonstrated notable resilience. Despite reduced enthusiasm from smaller traders, XRP’s price has held within a narrow band of $1.30 to $1.34, establishing critical support at $1.25.

Contrasting apathy in search engines and stability in the market

This extended period of low retail interest reflects a broader pattern affecting the entire crypto sector, as similar apathy has also dampened search volumes for bitcoin. In the case of XRP, analysts note a paradox: even as curiosity wanes, there has been no significant selling pressure pushing the price lower.

According to derivatives market data, excess leverage has disappeared as speculative positions have unwound. With many prediction platforms and algorithmic tools indicating that a psychological bottom in retail attention has been established, market observers are watching for signs of change in momentum.

Looking ahead, most models see XRP stabilizing in a consolidation range between $1.40 and $1.50 for the remainder of October. The return of heightened demand from retail traders, particularly visible in Google search activity, is likely required before any attempt at new all-time highs can be made.

Even with this pause, some analysts believe that the calm period could provide a base for the next extended market cycle. As the technical outlook tightens within key resistance and support zones, many traders are searching for tools that allow them to react quickly to sudden developments, such as Federal Reserve decisions or new altcoin listings, both of which can move the market in a matter of seconds.

Market participants warn that this marks a turning point in AI hype credit pricing—the high-leverage, heavy-debt expansion model is now facing a severe test amid elevated interest rates.

Bank of America’s Hartnett, who accurately predicted major declines: “Sell signal” is over, investors will "return to tech stocks in mid-November”, the key lies in “chip prices”

Bank of America’s “sell signal” has ended, but this is by no means a call to bottom fish. Currently, the AI financing gap is widening, and technology stocks are extremely crowded. Strategists warn that the key to whether technology stocks can rebound in November depends entirely on “semiconductor prices.” In the short term, it is advised to avoid technology stocks, maintain a defensive stance, and position in small caps and REITs.
