Crypto market’s weekly winners and losers – BTW, TAUFA, M, US

Crypto markets were relatively quiet this week as selling pressure continued to derail Bitcoin and altcoins.

While the majors struggled to gain traction, smaller-cap issues saw more dramatic swings, with some seeing double-digit declines. The overall market was cautious as traders waited for a sign of strength.

Weekly winners

Bitway [BTW] – Bitcoin-focused DeFi infrastructure extends its rally

Bitway [BTW] was this week’s big winner, surging almost 50%. The altcoin continues to dominate the bullish narrative for the seventh consecutive week as each of this week’s candles posted a new all-time high (ATH).

Technically, this week’s rally pushed BTW to a new ATH of $2.70, putting the $3 mark in focus. The RSI indicator is currently in overbought territory, indicating that BTW’s recent rally could soon cool down.

Interestingly, BTW has already reversed by more than 5% intraday to $2.30, signaling that some HODLers are taking profits as the token enters price discovery. The next key support sits around $1.80. A close below this level could see a further sell-off as weak hands start to panic instead of holding on to their profits.

Overall, BTW remains bullish, but the strong run could see the altcoin drop in the short term. Holding above $2.30 could help the token move toward $3; however, it would prevent $1.80 from being in danger.

Pearl [PRL] – AI-focused crypto project sees a post-resistance pullback

Pearl [PRL] has enjoyed a strong week, climbing almost 30%, as bullish momentum sent the token to a new all-time high of $2.10 on the 14th of October.

The rally reflected strong buying pressure before sellers stepped in near the peak.

At press time, PRL traded around $1.87, retaining most of its weekly gains. The pullback suggested some holders were taking profits after the sharp rally.

Even so, buyers had kept PRL well above its earlier weekly levels. The next test is whether they can defend those gains and attempt another push higher.

The $2–$2.10 resistance zone remains the immediate hurdle. A break above it could put fresh record highs within reach.

Conversely, a decline toward $1.70 could challenge the bullish outlook. PRL remained comfortably higher for the week, but renewed buying would be needed to resume the uptrend.

Monero [XMR] – Privacy-focused cryptocurrency yet to confirm a breakout

Monero [XMR] turned out to be the third weekly winner, jumping from $537 to $570 as buying pressure jumped in. The altcoin crossed the $565 resistance to the upside; however, the long-awaited breakout scenario is not yet confirmed. XMR bulls must now stay above the critical level to move the price higher.

Technically, the next short-term obstacle is represented by $575. If XMR struggles to break above this level, profit-taking could trigger a pullback. A drop below $565, and a bearish scenario would entail a move back toward the 550–540 support area.

With respect to the current situation, $575 and $600 are the levels to watch. A break above $600 could strengthen the bullish outlook, while losing $565 on a weekly basis would indicate further bearish pressure for XMR in the short term. In essence, the altcoin is showing signs of strength, but bulls need to prove that strength before the critical level can be broken.

Other notable winners

Outside the majors, altcoin movers also stood out this week.

TAU FA [TAUFA] led the rally with a 252% gain, followed by Quack AI [Q], which surged 233%, while Verified Emeralds [VEREM] climbed 121%, rounding out the list of the biggest weekly gainers.

Weekly losers

MemeCore [M] – Layer-1  focused on meme coin culture confirms a bearish structure

MemeCore [M] plummeted nearly 23% this week, becoming the biggest weekly loser. Notably, this correction follows the fourth consecutive week of declines as M failed to hold above the $2 support. Naturally, this week’s price action puts M at a crossroads.

Indeed, the bears have pushed the price back down to its late-June support level at $0.8, leaving many STHs underwater. This means that if M fails to hold above this level, it could trigger another wave of selling.

On the other hand, RSI is entering the oversold zone. Therefore, the bears may unwind some of their positions, facilitating a rebound for M. The price could consolidate around the $0.7 level in the near term.

If this happens, M could see a rally to $1.00.

If this support holds, M could rise towards $1.00. However, a break below $0.70 would trigger further losses. This trend is bearish; bulls need to intervene in order to prevent another sell-off.

Pump.fun [PUMP] – Memecoin launchpad token stands at a key inflection point

Pump.fun [PUMP] dropped nearly 20% this week as selling pressure mounted. The Solana-based memecoin launchpad token has failed to find buyers, who were unable to stop the price from sliding. The weakness has pushed PUMP toward a critical support zone that could define its near-term prospects.

Technically speaking, PUMP is still bearish, with sellers dominating the price action. The bears have pushed the altcoin below the $0.00475 level, indicating the buyers’ inability to maintain the price above this level.

Although the RSI is currently reaching oversold levels, this might not be enough to trigger a price increase, and buyers should demonstrate some buying power.

Looking ahead, $0.00430 is the key level to watch. If PUMP holds here, it could bounce toward $0.00475. However, a break below the level could lead to further losses. As for now, PUMP is at a turning point on which bulls need to act to stop the slide.

Midnight [NIGHT] – Privacy blockchain token shows little sign of dip-buying support

Midnight [NIGHT] became the third weekly loser, down about 18% as selling pressure mounted. The privacy-focused blockchain token was unable to recover from the $0.05 level to $0.04. The decline suggests that buyers are waiting on the sidelines rather than rushing to buy the dip.

Technically speaking, NIGHT is nearing a critical support zone around $0.041. If buyers fail to step in here, the token could face another leg down toward $0.035. The absence of a strong rebound also indicates that dip-buyers have yet to take over.

Looking ahead, $0.041 is the key level to watch. Holding this zone could help NIGHT bounce toward $0.045, a break below it could spark further losses. For the time being, NIGHT is struggling, and bulls need to step in.

Other notable losers

In the overall market, the bears took over on the decline front.

Talus [US] led the losers pack with a 74% drop, with Super Inu [SI] shedding 50% of its value and Blur [BLUR] slipping 46% as the selling pressure mounted.

Conclusion

This week was a rollercoaster. Big pumps, sharp dips, and nonstop action. As always, stay sharp, do your own research, and trade smart.

Final Summary

  • Bitway [BTW], Pearl [PRL], and Monero [XMR] led the main weekly winners.
  • Pump.fun [PUMP], MemeCore [M], and Midnight [NIGHT] led the main weekly losers.

Barclays: Dual restrictions of physical and capital, data center growth will slow significantly in 2027!

Barclays' latest report reveals that the global data center construction boom is approaching a turning point—the year-on-year growth rate of new capacity will plummet from over 100% in 2026 to about 35% in 2027, and stabilize by 2028. Facing both physical constraints and tightened financing, hyperscale cloud providers will absorb more than 60% of new capacity, while the risk of project suspension for small and medium developers will sharply increase.

Morgan Stanley has released its first comprehensive overview of AI capital expenditure: In 2027, among $1.58 trillion in spending by hyperscale cloud service providers, Nvidia alone will take 67%, while the remaining 499 S&P component companies will collectively receive only $339 billion. A more hidden risk lies in over $1.1 trillion of "off-balance-sheet leases," which are essentially disguised debt. 2027 is predicted to have the largest free cash flow shortfall, and the risks of both volume and price declines are being severely underestimated by the market.
