07:32 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Blackstone (BX) has raised $8.7 billion for Blackstone Energy Transition Partners V, a new fund dedicated to cleaner energy, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing an interview with David Foley, the global head of the firm's Energy Transition Partners. The latest fund is about 55% larger than its predecessor, which closed in February 2025 with $5.6 billion, according to the report. Blackstone committed $150 million to the new fund, which invests in a broad range of sectors within the energy industry while generally excluding oil companies, the report said, citing Foley. Blackstone didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
