Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Monday

09:10 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.7% lower and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.5%. Amazon.com (AMZN) has expanded access to its Luna gaming service through the Prime Video app on Fire TV to Canada, France, Italy and Spain, the company said, with eight more European countries set to follow in November. Shares of Amazon.com were up 2% premarket. Silgan (SLGN) shares were up more than 1% amid plans to acquire Trivium Packaging and combine it with its metal containers and food and beverage flat cap closures businesses, creating Silgan Metal Containers and Closures or Silgan MCC. Mattel (MAT) named Peter Griffith as chief financial officer, starting Oct. 20. Mattel stock was 0.6% lower pre-bell.
