Nomura Holdings and Daiwa Securities Group announced that they will cooperate with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, and Mizuho Financial Group to develop a stablecoin-based securities trading platform. This platform will allow investors to use stablecoins pegged to fiat currencies to purchase financial products such as stocks, bonds, and investment trusts, and will enable real-time, around-the-clock settlement of transactions via blockchain. The related pilot program is scheduled to be reported to financial regulators this month and will be launched thereafter, with the goal of commercializing the platform in the coming years.
