Amazon's net sales for the first quarter were $181.52 billion, a year-on-year increase of 28%, with an estimate of $177.23 billion; operating profit was $23.85 billion, versus an estimated $20.75 billion; earnings per share were $2.78, compared to an estimate of $1.62. The company estimates that net sales for the second quarter will be between $194 billion and $199 billion, with an estimate of $189.15 billion; operating profit is expected to be between $20 billion and $24 billion, with an estimate of $22.86 billion.
