High temperatures disrupt nuclear power operations, bringing France's nuclear power output to a nine-month low

```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on June 29 that due to a heatwave sweeping across Europe, EDF, the French electricity company, was forced to reduce nuclear power output because river water temperatures were too high to effectively cool the reactors. This has resulted in French nuclear power production falling to its lowest level in nearly nine months. Although France's air temperatures have dropped from last week's peak, river water takes longer to cool down, prolonging restrictions on nuclear power production. According to data from grid operator RTE, on Sunday, France's average nuclear power output fell below 33 gigawatts, marking the lowest level since October 5 last year. With high temperatures expected again next week, the time for river water temperatures to return to normal is running out, posing further risks of constraints on nuclear power output. Concerns over supply have spilled into the electricity market: on Monday, French July electricity futures prices surged 27% at one point, reaching €81.01 per megawatt hour (about $92.42), setting the highest record for near-month contracts since January.```
